The Chinese New Year celebration lasts for 15 days. Every year is represented by one of 12 animals. 

China is about the same size as the continental USA but it only has one official time zone. Continental USA has four. If you put together all the railways in China they could loop around the world two times. In China the weather can really various. Sometimes it is m 49°c in summer and  -29°C in winter. So be aware of the temperature when you pack your clothes if you are going to China. In China they mostly uses chopsticks to eat. Chopsticks were developed about 5,000 years ago and the first chopsticks were used to cook with and not for eating. 

China has very much history. In Ancient China, soldiers sometimes wore armour made from paper. It says the mortar used to bind the Great Wall’s stones was made with sticky rice, if it´s true or not it´s not clear. It took around 37 years to make the Terracotta Army, which is 8 000 clay soldiers built in Xi’an to guard an Emperor’s tomb. The Forbidden City is a palace complex in Beijing, contains about 9 999 rooms. It is very popular to visit.

In the wild life of China, the giant pandas are good swimmers, but they will probably not swim with the Chinese white dolphins which live off southern China. By the way the Chinese white dolphins are often pink and half of all pigs on earth live in China.

Probably has everyone heard of. The Great Wall of Chinas´s length is today about 6000 km and together with the valleys and nature creates a 8850 km long defense line. Why did they build such a tall and giant wall for such a long time? Well, it was mainly from protecting the country from nomad tribes who invaded from the north. Great Wall of China is built in soil, stone and brick.

The Forbidden City of Beijing, China

It was an imperial palace used during both the Ming and Qing Dynasty. The palace is located near the Tiananmen Square. Total it is 24 emperors who ruled the land from the Forbidden City, the first emperor was 1421 and the palace was active until 1911 when the Qing Dynasty was overthrown.
